Founded in 1989, WACVPR was established as a Washington state network for cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation professionals. In 1994 the association expanded to become a regional association to include professionals from Washington, Alaska, and Northern Idaho. NWCVPR is a 501-C-3 non-profit organization supported by membership dues and conference fees.
The Purpose of NWCVPR is to:
Provide educational opportunities for health care professionals.
Provide an internal network of communication and support between health care professionals.
Promote standardization of cardiac, pulmonary, and prevention programs in the northwest.
Promote awareness of cardiovascular, pulmonary, and prevention programs to the community.
Address reimbursement issues for cardiovascular, pulmonary, and prevention programs.
Promote and contribute to research regarding cardiovascular, pulmonary, and preventive health.
Implement and support the goals of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary
Rehabilitation (AACVPR) at a regional level.
